Term 2 Week 8: Persuasive Writing and Animations
I want longer break times at school.
Should we have a longer break time at school? I think we should. My name is Mr K and I am going to be telling you why I think we should have longer break times in school.
Break times are really important in school because we get a chance to play with our friends. Also it gives our brains a rest from all of the hard work we have to do in class. One study shows that lunch time and morning tea are a “crucial and necessary component of a child’s development” and that reducing this time for more academic subjects is counter productive.
Longer break time would also mean that we are spending more time outside playing games and running around which is healthy for us. We are also learning to solve our own problems and take turns when we are by ourselves playing games.
These reasons show how extra time for breaks can help us. Please think about giving us 5 more minutes at break times each day.

Welcome To Our Classroom Blog
Last week we did our fruit burst maths and investigated the number of fruit bursts in five different bags and the number of each colour. We created graphs and tables and finally looked at the probability of getting a certain colour out of the bag.
